Complete information in one bag
Collins Aerospace has launched the Electronic Cabin Bag (eCB), a system that digitalises and automates cabin crew tasks, and enables passengers to use their personal electronic devices (PEDs) for inflight shopping and service requests, removing the need to touch high-traffic call buttons.
The digitisation of documents, inflight processes and inflight inventory gives cabin crew access to information on a single device.
The eCB enables passengers to access a real-time onboard inventory of food, beverage and inflight shopping during flight, with all items offered in stock and available to purchase. When the aircraft has a satellite connection, real-time credit card payment verification is enabled, which can reduce the risk of fraudulent transactions.
“eCB gives airlines a boost in efficiency and ancillary revenue while simultaneously helping their passengers and crew feel confident in returning to travel,” said Clotilde Enel-Rehel, general manager for commercial aviation & network services at Collins Aerospace.
