Services for passengers on sea cruises and travel will begin with a mandatory COVID-19 test.
This decision was made by the leadership of the Cruise Line International Association (CLIA), whose members carry out 95% of the world's sea passenger traffic.
Under the new rules, 100% testing of passengers and crew members will be carried out in advance on all vessels capable of carrying 250 or more people. His methods may differ depending on new technologies.
As passenger travel continues to gradually resume amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the maritime cruise industry is the first in the global travel and tourism sector to include mandatory onboard safety testing in customer service.
Commenting on the decision, CLIA Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean Maria Deligianni said: "The introduction of mandatory testing is an important part of a multi-layered approach that demonstrates the cruise industry's commitment to protecting the health of passengers, crew and communities that visit our ships around the world."
