Social distancing remains relevant on board the airliner.
On November 18, US airline Delta announced that it will extend its Delta CareStandard safe passenger service concept, which includes mid-seat lockouts on all of its aircraft, until March 30, 2021. Delta is the only US airline to extend the ban.
The airline declared its "commitment to a multi-tiered service program with a minimum of contacts, which includes more than 100 protective measures."
In an official statement, Delta Chief Accountant Bill Lench said: “A number of independent studies have confirmed the effectiveness of Delta CareStandard's multi-layered security. Our improved ventilation and advanced air purification regime significantly reduces the risk of transmission of infection during flight. However, we understand that some clients are still learning to live with this virus and want to maintain a social distance for their peace of mind. We will always take appropriate steps so that our guests are fully confident that it is safe to fly with us. "
