Hong Kong's flagship airline Cathay Pacific has begun providing free COVID-19 insurance to all passengers.
This service is provided in cooperation with AXA General Insurance Hong Kong Ltd. Insurance is issued automatically when booking a flight. All persons who will fly on Cathay Pacific flights will be able to receive insurance benefits until February 28, 2021, if they are diagnosed with infection during their stay abroad.
Insurance covers COVID-19 tests and hospitalizations, and medical coverage can be up to $ 200,000. If placed in quarantine, clients will receive a cash benefit of $ 100 per day for up to 14 days.
And if evacuation or repatriation of those infected with COVID-19 is required, Cathay Pacific ensures that affected customers, as well as their fellow travelers and the children with whom they traveled with, return home.
The insurance is issued to passengers for 30 days from the date of their departure, or until they return home, if this happens before 30 days.
